What I did was to remove all spells from my spell-bar.
I would then make sure to have a rather low-level sword and bow in my inventory only.
You should be equipped with a maximum damage bow and put as many attribute point to maksmanship as possibble.
Skip the cutscene and make sure to point out your mirror-image very quickley.
Then just keep shooting.
From what I know, the mirror-image will and can use the same spells you bring...just better. That is why you should not bring any.
I did mine in just under ten seconds in the third try, but I might just have been lucky.

I did mine in under 20 seconds, here's what I did, remove all skills from your bar, then starting at the left add the spirit favorable winds, then add nature's renewal, next add spirit of winter, after that one add in distracting shot and then serpentts quickness, make sure to hit serpents quickness before using your first distracting shot, your mirror image should not be able to ever get the first spirit in place if you time your disrupts properly, good luck

You guys are making it too complicated.
Whirling Defense
Kindle Arrows
Power Shot
Penetrating Shot
4 more bow attacks you are never going to end up using (and you'll make sure he doesn't either)
He will start the fight with Kindle. Run up to him, pop Kindle yourself. Since you are close range, he'll pull out an axe. When you kindle is done, pop Whirling, then alternate Power and Penetrating for the rest of the fight. For some reason, he doesn't use Whirling.
I did this with only 6 in Marksmanship and a 12-21 damage bow, and still beat him before the 50 second bonus was up.

Too complicated? Cmon :P Whats so hard about bringing 3 or 4 spirits then ditracting him whenever he tries to lay them down?My example was just that,an example,as long as you dont bring the wrong spirits you should be able to figure out how to beat him

I did it with a ranger and just added in some knockdowns and some healing. you just need to make sure you get the first shot in. knock hinm down, then set your troll unguent or healing springs while he/she's down, then just attack with powershot/precision shot. worked pretty well. just make sure you keep an eye on the enchantments he/she's making so you can knock him/her down or interupt him/her whenever they try healing spells.

Take one bow attack(power shot, penetratint attack, hunters shot etc), fill the rest up with as many spirits as you have. DONT take any heals.
When the game starts, the mirror keeps casting all the spirits. Just go on spamming your power shots...

Bring 8 Nature Rituals except Fertile Season. Target mirror, press space. Go get a drink.
This worked for me when I did, Not sure if they have patched it since so he doesn't use as many spirits. Let me know if they did.

since you are a monk secondary, put 12 in smiting and use only retribution and holy wrath, then let him kill himslef

What Amnisac said. Fill your bar up with useless spirits and just keep shooting away at him.

Ppl listen, doppledanger is incredibly easy. If you have a monk secondary remember that it never uses healing breeze so only bring that healing spell to heal yourself. Also monsters and henches in guild wars have infinite energy so thats why if you are and inspirational mesmer, you ccan never suck all of the energy out of a boss or something. For rangers just bring as many spirits as you can then bring a prep plus penetrating. He'll be casting the spirits and in the time you will kill him easily.

He doesn't have the same inventory as you, only the same skills. The doppleganger has a bow and an axe. He'll use the axe if you get close to him.
Best thing to do is bring as many spirits and skills that don't do damage as possible. Let him cast the spirits because they'll probably help you do more damage.

DAMN lol you are spread wayyyy to thin atm. 7 attributes is way to much. i ususally put my points into 2-3 and maybe a 4th attribute. Do you actually use all those? I would go expertise makrs and then wilderness survival no monk for ur mirror

Apply poison + every spirit that doesn't help him possible. He won't even hit you once.

he's doing a lot of dmg to you because he's not exactly your mirror, other than having all the skills you have, he has max armour a ranger has which is 70AL +30 elemental, has max stats for all his attributes, ie Healing 12, smiting 12, axe 12 .... yup, even the attributes you dont have. that's why his axe is deadly.
I agree with entropy, your stats are spread out too thin, for now, just put ur points in marksmanship and expertise, get it as high as possible, you can later redistribute the points after fighting him. fill up ur bar with 4 -5 spirits like favourable winds, symbosis etc. you dont need to interrupt him, just let him cast all the spirits, each spirit takes 5 sec to cast and he'll cast all the spirits b4 attacking u, this gives you a 20-25 sec head start attacking him. fill up the remaining slots with bow attacks and dont bring any healing spells. when starting just run up close to him (to melee range) so he'll use axe instead of bow so all the bow skills u have are useless to him. all the spirits that favour range attack will favour u now.
If you have ur expertise high enough (pump it up to 10+ with minor runes) 10 mana skills will become 5 or 6, which means you can use it 7-8 times (with regen) before you are dry on mana.
